This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.


Weather hazards expected...

Limited hail risk.
Limited thunderstorm wind damage risk.
Significant lightning risk.
Elevated excessive rainfall risk
Limited non thunderstorm wind risk.

DISCUSSION...

Showers and thunderstorms will develop today. If enough instability
develops then a few storms could produce gusty winds and hail up
to the size of quarters. However, the severe weather threat is
marginal. Heavy rainfall on saturated soils may lead to isolated
flooding this afternoon and evening.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.


Additional chances for showers and thunderstorms exist this
weekend with the highest chances Saturday. A stronger storm system
looks to approach the region by Monday or Tuesday of next week
with additional thunderstorm chances.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Kansas...


Neosho River near Parsons affecting Labette and Neosho Counties.

Neosho River at Oswego affecting Labette and Cherokee Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don`t
drown.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL EARLY SATURDAY MORNING...


* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.

* WHERE...Neosho River at Oswego.

* WHEN...Until early Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 22.5 feet, Riverside Park Drive floods from east of
Xavier St, just south of the river gage bridge, to 100 yards east
towards the water plant.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:45 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 22.6 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 17.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 22.8
feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage
tomorrow morning.
- Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
